Each AFC Rondo training session is one hour and thirty minutes and is divided into three distinct training segments, each designed to progressively build a player's technical ability, tactical understanding, and overall soccer intelligence.
During the first segment, our professional coaching staff focuses on developing each player's technical foundation.
Players work on first touch, ball mastery, passing technique, receiving, turning, ball manipulation, scanning, and speed of play. Every exercise is designed to increase confidence on the ball while encouraging players to think and execute quickly under pressure.
The second segment introduces players to progressively more challenging rondo exercises that develop possession-based play in a realistic training environment:
Players learn to create passing angles, support teammates, move intelligently off the ball, and recognize when to play one-touch or two-touch. Coaches provide continuous instruction on spacing, communication, scanning, pressing, transition, and decision-making, helping players develop the technical and tactical habits used throughout the game.
The final segment of each session brings players into competitive small-sided games where they apply the technical and tactical principles learned during Segments 1 and 2.
Rather than simply playing a game, players are encouraged to utilize the rondo concepts practiced throughout the session - maintaining possession, creating passing angles, supporting teammates, scanning before receiving, making quick decisions, and moving intelligently on and off the ball.
Our professional coaching staff continues to provide instruction throughout the games, reinforcing proper spacing, communication, pressing, transition, and combination play. These realistic match environments allow players to transfer their training directly into competitive soccer while building confidence, creativity, and composure under pressure.
